How to blur faces on Android without uploading your photo
Open a still photo in Blurpeg, choose the faces and details to conceal, then save a new copy. Face detection and redaction run on your Android device without uploading the source to Blurpeg.
Open, review and save on Android
- Choose an image. Open the Photos tab and tap Choose an image. Select a still photo from the Android photo picker.
- Check the suggestions. Wait for the protected preview, then tap suggested regions to change which faces remain visible. Review the whole photo, including faces near its edges.
- Add missed details. Tap Add blur, or Add area when using a concealment style. Drag a box over the detail you want to hide. Use Undo added if you need to remove your most recently added region.
- Choose a style. Select Blur, Privacy mosaic or Solid concealment. Recheck the selected regions and surrounding details after making changes.
- Save the new copy. Tap Save blurred copy or Save concealed copy. If your included export has already been used, the button offers Unlock unlimited exports instead.

Where does the saved photo go?
Blurpeg saves a newly rendered JPEG in Pictures/Blurpeg through Android's media library. Look for the Blurpeg folder or album in your gallery app; how folders appear depends on the gallery you use. Open that saved copy and inspect it before sharing. The imported original remains unchanged.
Blur one face in a group photo
Choose Show all, then tap the suggested face you want to conceal. To hide several people, select each of their regions and leave the others visible. If a face has no suggestion, add a manual region.
If an image will not open
These steps are for still images, not video. Choose a supported photo and try again. If the file is stored in a cloud service, make sure it is available on your device first; that service may need a connection to retrieve it.
Choose the protection that fits the detail
Blur obscures detail while retaining broad colours. Privacy mosaic replaces the selected pixels with a fixed pattern, and Solid concealment replaces them with a solid colour. Check that the region covers the entire detail you mean to hide, including its edges.
Face detection can miss people or suggest face-like objects. Check background faces, reflections, screens, names, uniforms and location clues. Redaction does not replace consent or your decision about whether a photo should be shared.
What is included?
